Dromore aiming high as they aim to take down Ballyclare

By Staff Reporter

The success of Dromore High over the seasons has been mainly due to the expert coaching by Malone's Jacques Benade and his influence has made them favourites to overcome Ballyclare Secondary in the High Schools' Cup final at Kingspan this afternoon.

"We have won the trophy for the past couple of seasons but this the first time the boys have played at Kingspan as last year's final was at Queen's," said Benade.

"We can expect a close game against Ballyclare as I rate the teams are the best in the competition. I know they have a few Development players in their squad and although we only played them once in a Pollock Cup round-robin encounter in October I was impressed."

Ballyclare coach Stephen McGuigan said: "We have combined well. We have gained confidence by eliminating a good Ballymoney in the quarters and then Fivemiletown in the semis.

"There is a real buzz around the school."
