Carlisle have completed the signing of Jamie Devitt on a two-year deal after his contract with Sky Bet League Two rivals Morecambe expired.

The 25-year-old, who made more assists than anyone else in the division last season with 15, further boosts manager Keith Curle's wide options after Reggie Lambe arrived from Mansfield.

Irishman Devitt, who made 98 appearances for the Shrimpers and had been offered fresh terms at the Globe Arena, becomes the fourth new face at Brunton Park during what is proving to be a busy summer.

Carlisle head of recruitment Lee Dykes told the club's official website: " Jamie is a very talented individual who joins us on the back of a successful season on a personal level.

"Jamie was arguably one of the most effective players we faced last year, playing a big part in three of the four goals we conceded against Morecambe.

"He's a forward thinking player who can create and score goals which is an area we have looked to strengthen as a priority in this transfer window.

"Jamie can play a number of positions across the top end of the pitch. We believe he can play a big part in driving the philosophy of the manager forward and helping us to build on the success we achieved last season."
