In with a shout: Kyle Lafferty will cheer on Northern Ireland against Greece

Kyle Lafferty will transform from Northern Ireland superhero to Northern Ireland superfan for the country's big push to reach the Euro 2016 finals.

Lafferty, who scored a dramatic injury-time equaliser in Monday's 1-1 draw against Hungary at Windsor Park to keep Michael O'Neill's men on course for France, is suspended for next month's crucial home game with Greece but that won't stop him being inside the stadium to roar on the team.

It promises to be an historic occasion on October 8 in Belfast with a win for Northern Ireland sending the nation to the Euro finals for the first time. Lafferty is available for the final Group F match in Finland three days later, but wants his pals to get the job done before then.

He said: "Against Greece I'm going to be one of the fans for the night cheering the boys on, praying we qualify.

"We really want to do it in front of our own fans and I'm confident we will."
