Iain Dowie captained Northern Ireland in his playing days

The Germans are next for Northern Ireland on Tuesday in Paris.

According to Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, there is no doubt at all about the result.

After his side drew 0-0 with Poland on Thursday, the Manchester United star tweeted: "It was a very intense game. On Tuesday we'll clinch a round of 16 spot."

Confidence or arrogance? You decide.

Euro cocktail a top tipple after supersub McGinn sinks Ukraine

Niall McGinn said earlier this week his dream was to make an impact in France.

Talk about dreams coming true with the Northern Ireland winger scoring in the 2-0 win over Ukraine after coming off the bench.

Meanwhile back home at 26 West Bar and Grill, the Belfast restaurant Niall owns with agent Gerry Carlile, I'm told the Niall McGinn Strawberry Gin Euro cocktail is going down a storm.

Ex-skipper Iain proves he is still passionate for the team's cause

There's been some fantastic footage doing the rounds after Northern Ireland's 2-0 win over Ukraine in Lyon.

One of my favourite clips is ex-Northern Ireland skipper Iain Dowie jumping up and down and punching the air with glee during his ITV co-commentary stint when victory was secured.

He may have retired years ago, but the GAWA still love big Iain. Even more when they see his passionate celebration.
