Michael O'Neill: We won't lack discipline at Euro 2016

By Steven Beacom

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has claimed his side won't be intimidated or lose discipline when they face more streetwise and tournament hardened opponents at the Euro 2016 finals.

World champions Germany, Poland and Ukraine, who Northern Ireland will face in their group games later this month, all have recent tournament know-how and will have greater experience of the tricks and wind-up tactics that are part and parcel of big time international football.

O'Neill insists his team will cope with whatever is thrown at them.

He said: "Our discipline will be key for us, no doubt.

"If you look at us throughout the qualifying campaign, we didn't have a suspension until the ninth game so it's not a concern.

"I think there's great control in the group. I'm not going into the tournament envisaging that we'll have any issues with that."
