Wales pipped England to top spot in Group B in style with a performance that Gareth Bale described as the best of his international career. The Welsh beat Russia 3-0 and they are now potential last 16 opponents for Northern Ireland, if Michael O'Neill's team finish third in their group.

England, who drew 0-0 with Slovakia await the runners-up of Group F, which contains Austria, Hungary, Iceland and Portugal.

"The performance was probably the best I have been involved in," said Bale.

"We said we did not come here to just make up the numbers, we wanted to put a real effort in and to win the group, you can't do any more than that."

England manager Roy Hodgson was happy with his team's performance, saying: "I never thought I'd see an England team dominate three games as much as we've done.
