Ukraine dangerman Andriy Yarmolenko is a target for AC Milan after he was recommended by former striker Andriy Shevchenko.

Shevchenko, who played for Milan for seven seasons, is one of the assistant coaches with Ukraine - who will face Northern Ireland in their second Euro 2016 group game on June 16 in Lyon - and believes the 26-year-old Dynamo Kiev ace would be a perfect fit for the Italians.

Milan missed out on qualifying for Europe next season and Shevchenko has stated that he thinks the winger could be a hit at the San Siro.

Yarmolenko is in demand having been previously linked with Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham. Shevchenko said: "In Ukraine we have Yarmolenko, who I like a lot.

"He plays wide on the right but he can also play on the left and he will become a good player. I would point Milan in his direction."

Yarmolenko was named in his country's 23-man Euro 2016 squad yesterday afternoon.
