Northern Ireland to play Qatar at Crewe Alexandra
Northern Ireland will face 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar in Crewe on May 31.
The Irish Football Association confirmed this morning that the Northern Ireland international team will play against Qatar on Sunday, May 31 at the home of Crewe Alexandra, Gresty Road.
The match will form a part of Northern Ireland’s preparation for the Euro Qualifying match against Romania which is scheduled for 13 June at Windsor Park.
Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill paid tribute to those who had arranged the match, commenting: "This match will help us retain our focus as a squad into June as we prepare for the crucial Euro match against Romania."
The match will be played on the same weekend as the FA Cup Final, The Irish Open at Royal County Down and the Pro12 final, which Ulster are targeting a spot in.
Kick-off is at 5pm.
