Northern Ireland star Jamie Ward is hoping his Euro 2016 dream will still come true after suffering a hamstring injury for Nottingham Forest.

Ward was taken off before half-time in Forest's 2-1 home defeat to Brighton in the Championship last night and will be assessed by his club's medical team today.

Forest head coach Paul Williams said: "Jamie has a hamstring problem, which is not great. We will see how he is after the medical staff see him. Hopefully it will not be too bad."

Ward is hopeful that he'll return before the end of the season for Forest, knowing that Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill will want and need his energy for the finals in France.
