An Irish bar in France has declared it is ready for the invasion of the Green and White army as it posted a picture of it stocked-up with alcohol.

Ma Nolan's Irish Bar is in the heart of Nice where Northern Ireland have their opening match on Sunday against Poland.

Thousands of fans are making the journey across to show their support to the team as they play in their first major tournament in almost 30 years.

Posting a picture of dozens of barrels of beer to Facebook, the bar said: "Are you ready for Euro 2016?! We are!!"

The tournament kicks off tonight with hosts France taking on Romania at the Stade de France.

Owner of Ma Nolan's Irish pub in Vieux Nice Thady Nolan said: “The lads from the North have been arriving since Tuesday and we are delighted to have them here. The craic has been mighty and the singing loud.

"The sun is shining here in Nice and we’re looking forward to a great Euro 2016. I just hope we have ordered enough beer"
