Teenage sensation Anthony Martial turned from villain to hero for Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal rescuing a precious Champions League point in a 1-1 draw away to CSKA Moscow.

The 19-year-old headed in his fifth goal since joining the Red Devils in August, moving United into second spot in their group.

CSKA took an early lead when Seydou Doumbia netted after David De Gea saved Roman Eremenko's penalty, conceded by the young Frenchman for handball.

United boss Van Gaal called that a 'stupid reaction' by Martial but was overjoyed when he equalised after the break.

Another summer signing, Kevin de Bruyne, grabbed a 91st minute winner for Manchester City as they beat Sevilla 2-1.
