Northern Ireland midfielder Johnny Gorman has been shortlisted in the Aviva/Daily Telegraph School Sport Matters Awards 2010.

Gorman, 17, who attends Repton School, Derbyshire and plays for Wolves, made his competitive debut for Nigel Worthington's side in the 1-0 victory against Slovenia in a Euro 2012 qualifier earlier this month.

He has been shortlisted in the Male Pupil of the Year category with the awards being presented at Wembley Stadium on November 3.

Gorman has retained his place in the Northern Ireland squad for the qualifiers against Italy on October 8 and the Faroes Islands on October 12.

It means he will miss an important fixture for Repton on October 7 - a home second round tie against QEH Bristol in the Boodles Independent Schools FA Cup.
