Gillespie hails happy Ger Davis

Like anything in life, when you enjoy what you are doing you will do it well.
Football is no different and a player who is playing with a smile on his
face will produce the goods.
Even the greatest players in the world suffer from a lack of confidence at
some stage in their career.
But right now the Northern Ireland fans are counting their blessings since
Steven Davis joined Rangers on loan from Fulham.
Not for the first time, the man from Cullybackey oozed class in an
international jersey.
Davis has clearly been given a new lease of life north of the border and
there are no job satisfaction worries for him at Ibrox.
His international comrade Keith Gillespie has watched Davis sparkle for the
Gers and on Wednesday night he delivered another masterclass in the middle.
Georgia players were left chasing shadows as they were tricked by the skill
of a player brimming with confidence.
Gillespie was awarded the Man of the Match prize following the 4-1 victory,
but there were many candidates for the honour - including Davis.
"I have seen Steven play for Rangers on the television and he is
playing very well at the minute," said Gillespie.
"We all know what a good player he is and I expect him to be around
this squad for a long time."
It was also a special night for David Healy who collected an award from
France and Juventus legend Michel Platini following his goalscoring heroics
in the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
Healy scored at both ends of the pitch and perhaps his killer instincts are
so strong he shouldn't be allowed to defend after spot-kicks again!
"We know what David is all about and he produces it every time for us,"
added Gillespie.
"I'm sure he's pleased with how the night went, even though he could
have scored a few more goals!
"David showed he can create goals as well as finish. His first goal
wasn't a spectacular one, but he's proved time and again that he can score
very different types of goals.
"The tap-ins are just as important as the spectacular strikes and it
provided the platform for us to go on and win the game."
