Conditions didn't stop us: Brunt

Flying Chris Brunt may have had his wings clipped a little bit at Windsor Park on Saturday night.

With both flanks of the pitch holding the majority of surface water, Brunt's job was more difficult than most.

"It was really horrible down the flanks, sometimes you'd try a 10-yard pass and it would go three yards, other times it was travelling 50 yards," he admitted.

"The conditions were pretty difficult for both sides, but to be honest I thought we adapted better than they did on the night.

"It was just one of those nights and you have to do your best and put in a shift for the team.

"It definitely wasn't a game for the spectators but our fans produced another top atmosphere and made Windsor a cauldron again - and I'm sure it's not easy for visiting teams to come here."

After the conditions had settled down Nigel Worthington's side showed great character to come from behind and take the three points, which keep Euro 2008 dreams alive.

He said: "It was quite important to get the equaliser soon after they'd taken the lead and obviously we're right on front foot from there.

"Feeno had a great strike that hit the post before the equaliser and David Healy did what he does best for the winner.

"It is a brilliant feeling knowing that we will be going to Spain with something to play for and qualification still a possibility."
