David still goal king

David Healy

Kyle Lafferty has backed David Healy to be the goalscoring hero for Northern Ireland again in tomorrow night’s crucial World Cup qualifier in Poland.

The goals may have dried up recently for Healy at international level, but his strike partner Lafferty is convinced that will soon change for the Sunderland ace.

And there would be no better time than tomorrow in the crunch clash in Chorzow.

Rangers star Lafferty said: “We know what David can do for Northern Ireland. I wouldn’t bet against him scoring the winner against Poland and becoming the hero again!

“It’s all about getting in the right positions and hopefully taking chances that come your way.

“David has done that better than anyone for Northern Ireland.

“I have been playing with David for the last few years and I’m really looking forward to linking up with him once more in what is a huge match for us.”
