Euro 2016: Martin and Michael O'Neill awarded joint accolade for success in France
Michael O'Neill and Martin O'Neill have been rewarded for their exploits at Euro 2016 by being named joint winners of the Philips Ireland Manager of the Month award for June.
The Northern Ireland boss and his Republic of Ireland counterpart share the prize, having guided their respective sides into the knockout stages of the tournament.
Northern Ireland, under the younger O'Neill, lost their opening group game against Poland, but brilliantly bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Ukraine after O'Neill made five changes to his starting line-up.
They were then defeated 1-0 by World champions Germany but had done enough to reach the last 16 where they were extremely unfortunate to lose 1-0 to Wales.
The Republic of Ireland started with an encouraging 1-1 draw against Sweden in France before being beaten 3-0 by Belgium. Needing to overcome Italy to progress from their group, they won 1-0, eventually going out 2-1 to hosts France in the next phase.
Winning the June award is not the first time Michael and Martin have shared a Philips prize.
In 2015, the O'Neills were voted joint Philips Managers of the Year.
