Gareth McAuley to miss Northern Ireland's crunch World Cup qualifiers
Northern Ireland defender Gareth McAuley will miss next month's double-header of World Cup qualifiers.
The 37 year-old is currently out with a thigh injury after he was forced off during Northern Ireland's 1-0 win in Azerbaijan back in June.
It was a recurrence of an injury he sustained playing for West Brom against Chelsea and now Albion have confirmed their man will not be available for NI's trip to San Marino on September 1 or the home game against the Czech Republic on September 4.
“Gareth won’t be fit for a couple of weeks, he’s still struggling with his thigh so that’s a problem for us," said WBA boss Tony Pulis.
