Josh Magennis bags his first ever hat-trick on top day for Northern Ireland aces
Josh Magennis earned glowing praise from Charlton boss Karl Robinson after netting the first hat-trick of his career.
The Northern Ireland striker's treble helped shoot down Bristol Rovers 4-1 in League One.
Robinson said: "What people didn't see was that during the second half he ran back 70 yards to make a tackle on the edge of our box and was dead on his feet.
"I was going to bring him off and he said 'don't you dare'.
"He wanted the applause and it was also important at the end of the game for the players to split and applaud different parts of the stadium."
West Brom duo Chris Brunt and Gareth McAuley as well as Accrington Stanley's Billy Kee were other Northern Ireland internationals on the scoresheet yesterday.
