Martin O'Neill signs Ireland contract and names two uncapped players in his squad for World Cup qualifiers
Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane have finally committed their future to the Republic of Ireland by signing new contracts with the FAI.
At the beginning of his press conference on Friday, O'Neill also ended speculation over his future by finally confirming that he has signed a new deal with the FAI and so has his assistant Roy Keane and the remainder of the backroom staff.
"I have signed a new deal. It was never an issue. Roy and the backroom staff have followed suit. We're delighted," he said.
Barnsley captain Conor Hourihane and Falkirk keeper Danny Rogers have been named in O'Neill's squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Moldova.
The 25-year-old was named Championship Player of the Month for August after a stellar start to the season which has saw him contribute three goals and five assists.
There is also a place in the squad for former under-21 international Rogers.
They are the only new faces in O'Neill's squad for the home tie against Georgia on October 6 and the trip to Moldova three days later.
