Maik Taylor - 6
Reliable handling and composed, but could do little about Dalovic's first strike. Will be disappointed with the second goal but he was left isolated by his defence

Reliable handling and composed, but could do little about Dalovic's first strike. Will be disappointed with the second goal but he was left isolated by his defence
Andrew Little - 6
Strong in the air, the Rangers man broke up several attacks and looked to attack. Less forward thinking after the restart as the heat took its toll and energy levels sapped
Stephen Craigan - 6
Gave his all as usual and made some fantastic tackles to prevent goalscoring opportunities. Failed to produce a block to stop Montenegro's second goal but gave a commanding display
Jonny Evans - 5
Made a stunning late interception to deny Vucinic but had his sloppy moments. A close range header was easily saved but he was offered little protection
Ryan McGivern - 5
Produced a few crunching tackles but he will have to deal with more formidable strikers. Claimed he was fouled in the run-up to the second goal. Replaced by Healy in the second half
Sammy Clingan - 5
Helped his defence and tried to get forward but the midfield was given little time to mount attacks. Replaced by Norwood. Plenty of industry but little invention
Chris Baird - 5
A few misplaced passes but also important interceptions. Substituted at half-time as Northern Ireland had to adopt a more attacking mindset. Not the defensive shield he had to be
Steven Davis - 6
Looked the one Northern Ireland player likely to unlock Montenegro. Some trickery and classy touches, but little joy going forward and his influence faded after the break
Chris Brunt - 3
He had a shot which was deflected wide for a corner but generally his crossing was wayward and lhe showed ittle invention. Taken off at the break, can do much better
Martin Paterson - 3
Booked for throwing Luka Pejovic to the ground. His frustration only ended when he was substituted at half-time. A night to forget, but he wasn’t alone in that respect
Kyle Lafferty - 5
Lost his cool when robustly challenged but harried the Montenegro defence when the chance arose. Little service and booked for dissent. Taken off before the red mist really descended
Corry Evans - 5
Replaced Baird at half time. Put himself about but the confidence was ebbing away from his side
Grant McCann - 5
Replaced Brunt at half time. Tried to send in dangerous crosses but no reward. Booked for an aggressive challenge while near the end saw a fantastic free kick saved
Warren Feeney - 5
Replaced Paterson at halftime. Given little space to make a devastating impact
Johnny Gorman
Oliver Norwood - 5
For Clingan (65 mins). Freekick failed to trouble the Montenegro goalkeeper
David Healy - 5
For McGivern (69 mins). Little service but game time at least for the striker
