Northern Ireland B team withdrawals

Published 05/05/2009

Northern Ireland have suffered four withdrawals from the squad to face Scotland in a B international at Clyde’s Broadwood Stadium tomorrow.

Former Hibernian star Dean Shiels has been ruled out — he suffered a knock during Doncaster’s defeat by Wolves — along with Jeff Hughes, Adam Chapman and Curtis Allen.

Promising Bournemouth striker Josh McQuoid has been drafted in for this friendly after impressing for the under-21 side.

Northern Ireland coach Steve Beaglehole said: "While there has been some disruption to the squad, it is a great chance for our young players to show what they can do."
