Lee Camp - 6
Caused momentary panic with his failure to deal with a Faroes corner on the stroke of half-time but made a smart save from Johan Simun Edmundsson's long-range drive.
Chris Baird - 7
Offered support down the right side in an effort to break down a well-organised Faroes outfit. Clever in possession and dependable as ever in defence despite rarely being troubled.
Jonny Evans - 6
A clever back-heeled pass to create the third for Pat McCourt and almost found the net himself after 75 minutes. Occasionally sloppy in possession during the first-half.
Gareth McAuley - 6
A threat from set-pieces, the WBA man did well to hook Sammy Clingan's deep corner back into the six-yard box for Hughes' opener. Subbed at half-time.
Aaron Hughes - 7
Nigel Worthington will have been praying for an early goal and it came from the most unlikely of sources. The Northern Ireland captain's first goal for his country came on his 77th cap.
Steven Davis - 7
A superb finish from the edge of the box eased the growing tension around Windsor Park after 62 minutes. A rare quiet night from the Rangers star before his strike.
Sammy Clingan - 7
A composed presence in the centre of the park, his corner led to the first goal. With the dangerous Holst dropping deep, was left to do his fair share of defending.A willing runner down the right flank but unable to offer much in the way of penetration thanks to attentive marking from Johan Davidsen. Subbed approaching the hour mark.
David Healy - 6
Will wonder how he failed to score as half-time approached, his goal-bound effort tipped onto the inside of the post by the keeper. Subbed with less the 10 minutes remaining.
Paddy McCourt - 9
A great performance capped off with a fantastic brace. His individual run and sublime chip for the fourth goal was one of the finest efforts seen at Windsor for years.
Grant McCann - 6
Some tidy touches in and around the middle of the park but faded as the game progressed. Set pieces failed to pose a threat on too many occasions.
Craig Cathcart (for Gareth McAuley, 45 mins) - 5
A solid 45 from the Blackpool man despite having little opportunity to impress.
Niall McGinn (for Corry Evans, 59 mins) - 6
Instantly made a difference to the side, setting up Davis for the second goal.
Jamie Ward (for David Healy, 83 mins) - 5
Unable to make an impact in a very limited space of time.
