Slovakia manager Vladimir Weiss today admitted his side will miss their star player Marek Hamsik at Windsor Park on Wednesday night.
Napoli star Hamsik was sent off in the weekend 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic and the classy attacking midfielder is suspended for the World Cup showdown with Northern Ireland.
The 22-year-old, who scored in Slovakia’s 2-1 win over Northern Ireland earlier in the campaign, is coveted by some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Liverpool and Manchester United.
The Slovaks top Group Three, but a home win would change that.
Weiss said: “We’ll miss Hamsik (in Belfast). That’s a pity. The group is still wide open. It is a big match for both teams on Wednesday.”
