Worthy’s delight as backroom boys stay
Nigel Worthington's backroom staff have been reinstated after Glynn Snodin and goalkeeping coach Fred Barber verbally agreed new contracts.
The trio are now fully committed to Northern Ireland’s Euro 2012 qualifying campaign and the news will be a huge relief to Worthington ahead of Wednesday’s friendly against Albania in Tirana.
Worthington said: “I am delighted that Glynn and Fred have agreed new contracts and that the backroom staff will be as was.
“Looking back over the World Cup campaign, the players as a unit performed very well.
“I believe that as a team we can continue to move things forward, step up to the challenges which lie ahead and hopefully have a good campaign.”
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland Schools’ Under 18 side will face England at Seaview this afternoon in a tough Centenary Shield opener (1pm).
