Club NI boys are up for an International challenge

By Stuart McKinley

Not only will they take on two of the UK's most highly regarded youth academies, they will also come up against the best players that one of the biggest regions in France has to offer when the Irish FA hosts the inaugural Club NI International Cup.

The Club NI under-14 team, which will be led by former Derry City defender Pascal Vaudequin, who is now an IFA Performance Coach, will bring together the top youngsters from the IFA's regional coaching centres.

Up against them will be kids from Everton, Rangers and a team from the French Football Federation's Centre of Excellence in Toulouse.

"This is a great opportunity for these young boys to test themselves against players from professional clubs and the French team, who are full time in their youth centre," said Vaudequin.

Tickets for the competiton, which will be played at Greenmount Campus in Antrim, are £5 per day.
