Linfield must go for broke: Waterworth

By Graham Luney

Andy Waterworth believes Linfield's title bid will be over if they fail to beat Crusaders on Saturday. The champions hold a four-point lead with only five matches left and even if David Healy's side do mastermind a victory at Windsor Park, the title will still be out of their hands.

There is no margin for error for the Blues and Waterworth insists it's a do or die scenario in the Danske Bank Premiership blockbuster.

"I think it's vitally important we win the game, no other result will suit us," said the former Glentoran striker.

"We have to forget about accepting a point, we really have to go for it. Crusaders have the advantage in this title race and we have to close the gap. The title is already out of our hands and we cannot afford to slip further away. Whatever happens it's going to be a big ask for us but we need to win the game to have any realistic hopes of finishing top."
