Dungannon Swifts star +Adamson chasing a win treble

By Adrian Rutherford

Timmy Adamson is aiming for a hat-trick of wins when Dungannon Swifts face Crusaders tonight.

The striker scored a late winner as Dungannon clinched a dramatic 4-3 win over Donegal Celtic at the weekend — their second key win in seven days.

And Adamson is aiming to stretch their winning run and claim another prized scalp when Crusaders visit Stangmore Park tonight.

“It’s another massive game,” he said. “We want to keep moving away from the bottom, towards the top six, and three points is exactly what we’re looking for. It’s going to be a tough match — everybody knows Crusaders are a quality side — so we are going to have to be at the top of our game.

“We’ve a hard run — we play Glentoran, Linfield and Cliftonville in the next few weeks — so we want to get as many points as possible in the bag now.”

Adamson, who is highly rated by Crues boss Stephen Baxter, added: “In this league the difference between winning and losing is so big. We are good enough for the top six but not good enough to think we can forget about relegation.”
