Irish Cup decision remains in the dark

The JJB Sports Irish Cup farce involving Newry City and Larne was thrown into further chaos last night after the Border club were told that a further meeting between the parties will have to take place on Monday.

Larne failed to turn up for their appeal on Tuesday, and so last night, when a final decision was expected, it transpired that yet another meeting has been called.

It is not clear at this stage whether Saturday’s proposed sixth round tie between Newry and Loughgall will go ahead.
