Crues will be hungry for revenge in Cup showdown: Lowry

By Graham Luney

Stephen Lowry has warned his Linfield team-mates that Crusaders will be on a revenge mission at Seaview tomorrow.

The Danske Bank Premiership's top two clash in the quarter-finals of the Tennent's Irish Cup and Lowry knows the Crues will be hurting after losing a huge league battle to their title rivals at the Shore Road venue on New Year's Eve, followed by that County Antrim Shield final loss to David Healy's side.

Stephen Baxter's men boast a seven-point lead in the title race, so defeat for the Blues could mean a fifth season without major silverware. Lowry knows what's at stake and he's also aware of the size of the task facing his side, saying: "I'm sure they'll be looking for a bit of revenge, but it's something we have to deal with. We've turned them over a couple of times, but I'm sure that will be in the back of their minds."
