Lisburn Distillery manager Tommy Wright out to pile woe on Linfield
Tommy Wright says it’s too early in the season for anyone at Linfield to panic — but he wants to increase those anxiety levels tomorrow!
Wright, who started his goalkeeping career at the Blues, takes his Lisburn Distillery players to Windsor Park with an extra spring in their step after a sensational fightback against Crusaders last weekend.
The mood could not have been more contrasting in the visitors’ dressing room at Windsor Park where Linfield crashed to a 2-1 defeat at Dungannon Swifts, making it one point netted out of a possible six.
The champions will be anxious to celebrate their first league win of the season tomorrow but Wright believes his men can serve up another shock.
“It’s a nice easy one for us now,” joked Wright. “But people would have looked at our opening fixtures and said ‘no points out of nine’ but we have got three so we’re pleased with that.
“Linfield have started slow before but I’m expecting a really hard game. We always get that at Linfield but we can only look after ourselves and we’ll be fired up like them. It’s too early in the season to say it’s a big game for Linfield but I’m glad we’re going there with three points to our name.”
