Robinson rallies Dungannon Swifts fans
Dungannon Swifts boss Dixie Robinson is hoping that the fans who turned out to see his side face Liverpool on Thursday night will be back to add to some vocal support for the visit of champions Linfield.
Over 2,000 supporters were at Stangmore Park for the Reds trip to Co Tyrone and another bumper gate is expected when the Blues roll into town.
However, much of those will be visiting supporters and Robinson, who is looking for a reaction from his team after defeat to Newry City in the opening game of the season last Saturday, wants those who came out on Thursday to make a quick return.
“We had a good group of supporters at Newry City on Saturday, but they were the hardcore who watch us wherever we go,” said Robinson.
“Every club needs them and the support they give us is tremendous, but I think that home gates could improve and maybe the ones who watched us against Liverpool will come back because it makes a big difference to have a crowd backing you, especially against the like of Linfield.
“We have a really good product here — exciting games with plenty of goals. It really is excellent value for money.”
