Down Area Winter Football League round - up December 15

In the DAWFL Premier Division Brentwood - trailing in second place - stalled their bid to overtake Moat Park Rangers, losing 3-2 at home to Corrymeela.

Vision Athletic, lying in third with games in hand, won 3-2 away to Ravenhill YM. Bottom-of-the-table Clandeboye YM lost 15-1 away to Comber Star - their 16th defeat this season and showing no signs of turning things around.

In the 1A, North Down remain top of the table with games in hand, thanks to a 4-1 home win over Agape. Ballygowan continue to edge up the table following a 3-1 away win over Newtown Forest. Ards Rangers III won 5-1 at home over Bryansburn Rangers III.

Bangor YM III won 2-1 at home over the 82nd who are botom and still hunting that elusive first win of the season. Queens Grads III won 7-1 at home against third place Bangor Swifts III. Second placed Comber Rec III won 7-1 away over Ballywalter Rec III.

In the quarter final of the Billy Allen Memorial Shield, current cup holders Moat Park Rangers won 5-3 over Comber YM to progress to the semi finals. Willowfield Parish won 7-3 to knock out Stranmillis 37th OB and claim their place in the next round. They will face either Greenwell Star or Castlereagh Colts who are already through.
