Down Area Winter Football League round-up October 12

In the DAWFL Premier Division, Moat Park Rangers continued their unbeaten streak with a 12-3 away win over Clandeboye YM to stay at the top of the table and remain the team to beat. Second placed 8th OB won 1-0 at home over Willowfield Parish to keep the pressure on Moat Park. 3rd Bangor OB lost 4-2 away to Vision Athletic in a bid to get out of the bottom two.

Brentwood, runners-up last season, won 3-2 away against Corrymeela, who are in the lower half of the table following a slow start to their season. Ravenhill YM drew 2-2 with Comber YM, who they are back-to-back with in the middle of the table. Newly-promoted Castlereagh Colts drew 4-4 at home with Comber Star.

In 1A, Bangor Swifts III won 2-0 away to the 82nd to stay in the top spot. Bryansburn Rangers III won 4-3 at home over Stranmillis 37th OB, who are stuck in the bottom two. Bangor YM III won 1-0 away to the 43rd OB who have taken on a new manager.

North Down won 3-1 away to Bangor Rangers III to keep the pressure on the top two. Comber Rec III, sitting second, won 3-1 at home over Ballygowan. Ards Rangers III lost 5-2 away to Agape. Queen’s Grads III won 2-0 at home against Ballywalter Rec III. Newtown Forest defeated Abbey Villa III 3-1.
