Down Area Winter Football League round-up October 19

In the DAWFL Premier Division, Moat Park Rangers won 5-3 away over Castlereagh Colts.

Moat Park remain unbeaten and continue to dominate, but they will need to remain vigilant with the 8th OB close on their heels. Brentwood, last season’s runner-up, won 6-2 away over Oakfield Breda, a scoreline they are very accustomed to. Oakfield Breda continue to be stuck in the bottom two, having secured only three points thus far this season.

Comber Star lost 2-0 at home to Vision Athletic, with both pushing to get out of the middle.

Ravenhill YM won an incredible 20-0 away over Clandeboye YM. Clandeboye have been dogged by off-the-field problems this season, and show no signs of turning things around on the pitch.

In 1A, Comber Rec III won 3-1 away to 82nd. The win puts the Rec in the top spot for now. The 82nd remain in last place, having won just one point this season so far. North Down are poised to overtake the Rec thanks to a 2-1 away win over Abbey Villa III and with games in hand.

Agape drew 1-1 with Queen’s Grads III. Ballygowan won 6-3 at home over the 43rd OB, who are busy restructuring. Stranmillis 37th OB remain stuck in the bottom two, following a 5-4 home defeat against Newtown Forest.
