Fermanagh & Western League round-up October 26

The inclement weather disrupted the Fermanagh & Western League programme with the game of the day between defending champions Enniskillen Town United and the Irish Junior Cup holders Strathroy Harps one of the fixtures that didn’t take place.

Former champions Lisbellaw United took full advantage with a hard-earned win away to Tummery Athletic. Paul McGrath notched a brace with Alan Veitch also on target for the winners, Ryan Cunningham and Peter McGinn with the goals for the hosts.

Dergview Reserves were 1-0 winners at home to Shelbourne in a Tyrone derby, while Andrew Copeland was on target as Lisnaskea Rovers continued their good run of form with a 2-0 win at home to Fintona Swifts.

In Division 2, goals from Mark McCauley and Aidan Mulligan earned Lisnarick a 2-2 draw away to Drumquin United, while Mark Jones scored twice and Mark Thompson also found the net as high-flying NFC Kesh were 3-1 winners over Irvinestown Wanderers. Michael Mahon got the goal for the visitors.

Strule United defeated Sion Mills Rec 3-0, while Lee Glass got a hat-trick and Ciaran McBrien scored twice as Derrychara United led Maguiresbridge 6-2 before the game was abandoned after 78 minutes.

In Division 3, Erne Rovers were in fine scoring form as they hammered Mountjoy United Reserves 7-2 with the help of goals from Seamus Ryder (3), Ronan Cox (2), Martin Doherty and Alan Gregg. Rodney Hillen got the Augher Star’s goal but they went down 4-1 at home to Ardstraw Reserves, Kenny Williamson and Derek Matthews scoring a brace each for the winners.

Goals from Joseph Williamson (2) and Warren Stewart helped Magheraveely to a 3-2 victory at home to Fivemiletown United Seconds, while Omagh Hospitals and Orchard Farm fought out a 2-2 draw with Niall Bradley and John Graham the Farm scorers and Mick McCullagh getting a brace for Hospitals.
