Six of the boss

Ian Gregg, Wakehurst

Biggest triumph?

The fact that we are still in the Championship is a triumph in itself.

Worst beating?

That came in the first season I was in charge, in 2002. We were an Amateur League side then, and lost 12-1 to Linfield Swifts. It was a real debacle.

Best junior player ever?

Willard Reid. He played for Cullybackey and was full of artistry and skill.

Best one-liner heard at a match?

I heard the daughter of a local journalist say during one of our matches: “How can you get so much pleasure out of something that gives you so much pain?”

Favourite motto?

Talent is not enough. Persistence and determination is all.
