South Antrim Area League round-up October 26
Clonduff YM caused an Ironside Cup upset in their first season in the South Antrim League when they beat Bloomfield III 4-1 in the third round on Saturday.
Johnny Bowes got two of their goals, and the others came from Craig Martin and Dee Moore.
In the other Ironside Cup tie played, the holders, Glaston, eased past the Division 1 leaders, South Antrim, 6-0, with Sean Armstrong scoring twice. The other tie between Belvoir FC and Lambeg Rangers fell foul of the Belfast Council decision to call off matches on Friday.
There were no Premier Division matches scheduled, but Stranmillis II surprised FC Utd Lisburn, who have hit a bad patch, losing 3-2 in Division 1. Christopher McErlean, Kevin Gallagher and Kayon Disely got Stran's goals and Paddy Howe and Andy Dornan replied.
1st Lisburn won by the same scoreline against Ballymacash YM II with Luke Eastwood, Jamie Mudd and Gary Brett scoring for the winners, and Terry Houston and Brian McAllister replying. Victoria Athletic v Belvoir FC II was off.
In Division 2, Glenavy III created a shock with a 2-0 win over Cregagh Wanderers, and though Shane Elder and Myles Taylor scored for Ballymacash YM III, they still lost 3-2 to Lambeg Rangers II.
Lisburn Athletic won the remaining game played 2-0 against FC Utd Lisburn II, thanks to goals from Ben Mehaffey and Stevie McDonagh.
Matches off in this division were Carrowdore YM v Braniel YM II and Clonduff YM II v Newtown Forest III.
