Kearney has earned respect
I did my Pro Licence with Oran Kearney and found him to be a clever man who knew his football.
Last season there were some in the game questioning that.
The budget at Coleraine had been cut and results were poor and from the outside the pressure seemed to be on Oran.
In many ways the easiest thing for the Coleraine board would have been to sack him, but they kept faith in him and look at the rewards they are enjoying this season because of that.
The board must be commended for their decision and Oran deserves all the praise going for making it one they didn't regret.
Coleraine are fourth in the table, six points behind the leaders Crusaders, they are scoring goals for fun and aren't conceding many.
And they are delivering all this on the back of not bringing in name players, but preferring to work with local talent. Some other clubs could do worse than look at what Coleraine and Oran are doing and learn from them.
