Healy could follow to Craven Cottage
Wednesday, 11 April 2007
Northern Ireland record goalscorer David Healy (pictured) is now in line for a move to the Premiership with Fulham.
Should Lawrie Sanchez stay at Craven Cottage on a permanent basis, he will
make a summer move for the Leeds United striker.
In his role as
international boss, Sanchez has said on numerous occasions that Healy would
be a success in the top flight and now he will have a chance to put Mohamed
Al Fayed's money where his mouth is.
Healy, of course, is
currently involved in a relegation battle with Championship outfit Leeds and
would jump at the chance to play in the Premiership.
He has been
linked with several clubs such as Everton, Wigan, Sunderland and Birmingham,
but suddenly Fulham are favourites to sign him.
Healy may not be
the only Northern Ireland star on Sanchez's wanted list.
He may
look towards Aston Villa where defender Aaron Hughes and midfielder Steve
Davis are at the moment spending more time on the bench than on the pitch.
Sanchez is a big admirer of both players, who would be tempted by the prospect
of regular first team football.
