Exciting midfielder Daryl Fordyce has agreed to join Glentoran and will put
pen to paper when he returns from Northern Ireland Milk Cup duty.
The 20-year-old former Portsmouth trainee was released by Harry Redknapp in
the close season and decided to return home to try his luck in the Irish
League.
"Daryl has agreed to sign and we are delighted to
bring him on board," said Glens boss Alan McDonald.
"
He'll bring more competition to the midfield which is what I wanted and he
can score goals too."
Another Glentoran target, central
defender Mark McChrystal is to decide his future over the coming days with
McDonald hopeful he will choose east Belfast rather than Derry City, who are
also believed to be interested, to ply his trade.
On McChrystal,
the Glens boss added: "We are expecting to have the matter resolved
very soon."
The Glens play Swedish side AIK Solna this week
in the UEFA Cup trailing 5-0 from the first leg.
