Crusaders last night won the race to sign midfielder Ryan McCann from Lisburn Distillery.

The former Rangers apprentice quit the Whites under freedom of contract after Paul Kirk was sacked and chose the Shore Road outfit ahead of Cliftonville, Coleraine and Linfield — who he joined Distillery from four years ago.

“I am delighted to get everything sorted out,” said McCann, who signed a three-year contract at Seaview.

“Stephen Baxter has a good young squad at Crusaders who showed what they are capable of by winning the Irish Cup. He wants to push on from that and I am looking forward to being part of it.”
