County Antrim Shield semis finalised

The County Antrim FA has ditched plans to play the semi-finals of their senior shield competition on separate dates at the end of this month.

Originally Crusaders were scheduled to play Linfield at Seaview on Tuesday, October 30, with Ballymena United hosting Donegal Celtic 24 hours later — home advantage being determined by the draw.

Now, however, the Shield committee has decided that the matches will both be played on the Tuesday evening.

The Shield final will take place on Tuesday, November 27 and once again the venue is expected to be decided on the toss of a coin between the two finalists.

COUNTY ANTRIM SHIELD SEMI-FINALS: Ballymena United v Donegal Celtic (Ballymena Showgrounds), Crusaders v Linfield (Seaview). Both games to be played on Tuesday, October 30, kick-off 7.45pm.

e DANSKE Bank Premiership players will join the Irish FA in backing the FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) campaign this weekend.

Players from all clubs will show their support by wearing FARE |t-shirts during their warm-ups and pre-match line-up at fixtures on Saturday, October 20 and Monday, October 22.
