Crawford seals win

Institute 1 Dungannon Swifts 0

Thursday, 27 December 2007

Former Omagh Town striker Andy Crawford netted the all-important winner for Institute over Dungannon Swifts yesterday.

The striker headed home Martin Cutmore's cross eight minutes from time in a match, which saw Liam Beckett's side deservedly secured their third victory of the season.

"I feel we got today everything that we have been trying to get in the last few weeks and that is a deserved victory," said 'Stute assistant manager John Gregg.

"We have to give so much credit to the players, because over those few weeks were things haven't been going our way, they could have let their heads drop, but they didn't and kept plugging away. I'm delighted for Andy Crawford he was superb up front, worked his socks off and duly scored the winner. However I feel our man of the match was Eamonn Seydak, he alongside Mark Scoltock, were outstanding."

Cutmore also rattled the bar on three occasions, but he was smiling at the finish.

INSTITUTE: Doherty, Boyle, Scoltock, Seydak, Bell, Semple, Kee, Lowry, Cutmore, McCreadie, Crawford. Subs: S Campbell for Boyle (18); R Campbell for McCreadie (61); Ferry for Semple (81).

DUNGANNON SWIFTS: Nelson, Curran, Montgomery, McMinn, Murphy, Hegarty, McAree, McGinn, McCafferty, Campbell, McAllister. Subs: Barron for McCafferty (61); Maginnis for Curran (86).
