Crusaders winging it with Martin

Crusaders last night boosted their attacking options by securing a deal with former Lisburn Distillery and Linfield winger John Martin.

Departing Seaview is Alain Emerson, who has completed his move to Dungannon Swifts.

As the clock ticked down towards the closing of the local transfer window at midnight, it was out of contract players — who can sign outside of the window period anyway — who were the main captures for Carling Premiership clubs.

Former Newry City striker Tony Anderson joined Lisburn Distillery, ex-Everton trainee Eunan O’Kane signed for Coleraine and Portadown completed a deal to bring former Hearts and Scotland under-21 Sean Mackle to Shamrock Park. He was recently with Dundalk, but was released by the League of Ireland side.
