Donegal Celtic assistant manager Pat McAllister has slammed the Irish FA’s delay in hearing his club’s appeal against the docking of three Championship points over a month ago.
Celtic’s Liam Watson was found to have played under a suspension carried over from his short loan spell with Ballymena United reserves last season, which Celtic were unaware of.
Frustrated Pat McAllister said: “The delay on our appeal against the loss of points is an absolute joke. Where else would something like this happen? How can the clubs we are competing against; be allowed to make a decision they will benefit from? It’s a farce; but does it surprise anyone?”
Meanwhile in the second round of the Co-operative Insurance tomorrow Ards host Limavady United, Banbridge Town tackle Loughgall, Carrick entertain Ballyclare and Larne travel to Portadown.
