Feeno in Sheffield Wednesday move
Thursday, 26 November 2009
Northern Ireland striker Warren Feeney will today sign a loan deal with Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday.
Feeney, who has been struggling to make an impact at Cardiff City after coming back from injury at the start of the season, will move to Hillsborough initially for a month. But the deal could be made permanent in the January transfer window if 28-year-old Feeney impresses during his time in South Yorkshire.
Feeney will go straight into the reckoning for a starting place for Saturday’s clash with Chris Brunt’s West Bromich Albion.
Meanwhile, Steve Bruce will unleash David Healy on Wigan at the weekend if Darren Bent fails to recover from a hamstring injury.
Bruce said: “If Darren Bent goes down, David will get his chance.
“He is the ultimate pro, I have huge respect for him and he has a part to play for me here.
“I can understand Nigel Worthington. Every international manager would like to see their players play regularly at club level, and David would admit that himself. I can only do what is best for the club and David is finding it hard to get through at the moment.”
