Daryl Fordyce has insisted that Glentoran are still the team to beat despite dropping points for the second game in a row, against Linfield on Monday.
The Glens were coming off the back of a defeat to Ballymena United the previous week, but they remain top of the league by three points from Crusaders, whom they play on Saturday.
“We are still above Linfield in the league, we are still ahead of Crusaders. We can’t be too disheartened because we haven’t lost the game, we haven’t given up any ground on them.
“We had a disappointing result last week against Ballymena but we can’t let our heads drop.
“We just have to keep going and rediscover our form and focus again on the good things that we were doing a couple of weeks ago — it’s early days yet.”
He added: “We need to pick ourselves up again and dust ourselves down.
“No team can go through the whole season without losing a match or dropping points.
“The Barcelonas of this world don’t even do that so you can’t expect us to do it either.
“It’s obviously going to be tough but we are in the middle of a run of very tough games so nothing changes week on week.”
