Glentoran 2 Warrenpoint Town 2: Glentoran have completed the signing of former Northern Ireland under-19 international Fra McCafferty in a bid to boost their challenge for European football in the summer.
The Glens hopes of playing in the Europa League took a serious setback when they lost 2-1 to Warrenpoint Town on Saturday and McCafferty, who spent three years with Hull City before joining Dundalk last summer, will give manager Eddie Patterson options across midfield.
With his squad severely hit by injuries and suspensions, as well as a number of player departures in the last eight months, Patterson's starting line up on Saturday contained only three players from the team that won the Irish Cup last May.
While the Glens are now six points behind third placed Portadown, Warrenpoint moved into ninth, ahead of both Ballinamallard United and Coleraine thanks to Paudi Smith's 70th minute winner at The Oval.
Marty Havern had given Point the lead six minute after half-time, with David Scullion then levelling for the Glens.
Warrenpoint manager Barry Gray is still looking over his shoulder though, despite now being 11 points ahead of Ards at the bottom.
"Survival in the Premiership is key for us," said Gray.
"It's important the players don't come to places like The Oval, Solitude and get overawed by it.
"It's important we have confidence in our own ability, the players have been superb and hopefully we can build on that."
