Rory Hamill has joined his seventh Carling Premiership club after agreeing to sign for Lisburn Distillery.
Hamill, who had also been in talks with Institute, has turned out for Glentoran (twice), Coleraine, Ballymena United, Dungannon Swifts, Donegal Celtic and Cliftonville and after being released by the Reds is expected to go straight into the squad for the Whites’ league opener with the Glens at New Grosvenor tomorrow.
New Distillery boss Jimmy Brown was assistant manager to Roy Coyle while Hamill was in his first spell at the Oval and knows all about the forward, who on his day still has the ability to be one of the most exciting players in the league.
The once-capped Northern Ireland international, has become something of a nomad of late, but Brown will be hoping that his experience, alongside one of the signings of the summer in Glenn Ferguson will help to, finally, bring silverware to New Grosvenor.
