Peter Hutton is down to one fit centre-back at Derry City - himself.
Ken Oman has been ruled out of tonight's League Cup quarter-final at Cobh Ramblers leaving the player-manager as the last man standing.
Dave Rogers completed his move to St Patrick's Athletic during Derry's defeat at Richmond Park at the weekend in the Premier Division.
And with Darren Kelly adamant that he wants to leave, caretaker boss Hutton, who only played in Friday's 2-1 defeat because of the ongoing problems at the heart of the City defence, is the only available player.
He has said he won't involve Kelly in the squad while he remains on the transfer list but there could be an outside chance that both sides will relent given the circumstances.
And were that to happen it could possibly change the former Northern Ireland under-21's mind about his future.
But at the moment Hutton's main concern is getting past First Division Cobh and keeping the defence of the trophy going.
Friday's defeat was Derry's second in a row, although they were perhaps a little unlucky not to earn a share of the points with a much better performance than in losing to Drogheda the previous week.
Derry have only one win in eight matches; that coming against another First Division opponent, Monaghan United, in City's continuing defence of the FAI Cup.
It's depressing reading at the moment and an injury crisis in any department doesn't help.
Pat McCourt is still a week or two away from rejoining the squad which limits Hutton's options up front.
